
Partnergruppen
Wissenschaftlichen Nachwuchs gemeinsam fördern
Mehr als 70 Partnergruppen gibt es derzeit weltweit. Dabei handelt es sich um ein Instrument zur gemeinsamen Förderung von Nachwuchswissenschaftlerinnen und -wissenschaftlern mit Ländern, die an einer Stärkung ihrer Forschung durch internationale Kooperation interessiert sind. Hierzu zählen wissenschaftlich aufstrebende Länder wie beispielsweise Indien, China, mittel- und osteuropäische Staaten sowie Länder Lateinamerikas.
Partnergruppen können mit einem Institut im Ausland eingerichtet werden. Voraussetzung hierfür ist, dass exzellente Nachwuchsforschende (Postdoktoranden) im Anschluss an einen Forschungsaufenthalt an einem Max-Planck-Institut an ein leistungsfähiges und angemessen ausgestattetes Labor in ihrem Herkunftsland zurückkehren und an einem Thema weiterforschen, welches auch im Interesse des vorher gastgebenden Max-Planck-Instituts steht.
Die Arbeit der Partnergruppen wird nach drei Jahren evaluiert und kann – vorausgesetzt die Evaluation fällt positiv aus – auf fünf Jahre verlängert werden.
