Curriculum Vitae

Myriam Benisty's research focuses on investigating the birthplace and conditions of planet formation, as well as searching for newborn planets. She currently heads the European Research Council-funded project ‘PROTOPLANETS’. As head of the Department of Planet and Star Formation, she combines state-of-the-art observations from space and ground-based instruments at various wavelengths with theoretical models of the planet formation environment. She is involved in the preparation of the next generation of instruments, including the METIS and PCS instruments for the ELT. Director at the Max Planck Institute for Astronomy since 2024 and Scientific Member of the Max Planck Society.
