Who are alumni and alumnae? Everyone who has spent at least six month at one Max Planck Institute or one of the affiliated structures listed below. This includes all researchers (doctoral students, postdocs, group leaders, directors, visitors, either under contract, stipend, or third-party funding) and staff members.

After discussions with Max-Planck-President Patrick Cramer, the MPAA board has decided to dissolve the association following the successful launch of the central MPG-wide database (expected in the second half of 2026) and to encourage its members to participate in the central alumni network.
