The Max-Planck-Institut für Kohlenforschung in Mülheim an der Ruhr conducts basic chemical research aimed at making chemical transformations as energy and resource efficient as possible. Catalysis with all its facets is at the center of the research.
For the research group of PD Dr. Harun Tüysüz we are searching for a post-doc fellow (m/f/d) in the field of “Monitoring solid catalysts under operating conditions” in full time (39 hours).
The position is available starting from 01.06.2023 and will remain open until it is filled.
Responsibilities
Description of project: The project deals with the design of carbon-based porous solid catalysts for CO/Cl2 conversion and their investigations through spectroscopic methods under operating conditions. The project is multidisciplinary and is the part of industrial Carbon2Chem consortium.
Requirements
- A PhD Degree inChemistry
- Experience with synthesis and characterization of solid catalysts, prefarably with carbon-based materials.
- Practical skills with operando techniques and continuous flow reactor systems
- Know-how, knowledge and experience with Raman microscopy
- Very good English language and communication skills
