The Max Planck Institutes offer apprenticeships for gardeners, wood mechanics, carpenters as well as specialists for events, hospitality, housekeeping, kitchen and warehouse logistics.

Max Planck Institutes specializing in plant research investigate how plants develop and function, react to their environment and interact with other organisms, and what the genetic basis of their biological diversity is. To this end, they maintain experimental fields, greenhouses and grow plants themselves - and they train people to become

Wood as a material is the focus of the apprenticeships for

  • wood mechanic specializing in furniture construction and interior design
  • carpenter

which are offered in the workshops of the Max Planck Institutes, which produce the wooden components they need for their own use. Sawing, planing, sanding and veneer processing are just as much a part of the training as computer-controlled techniques.

The Max Planck Society's conference centers manage conferences, seminars and other events. High demands are placed on all the activities involved in hotel operations, which is why

  • Event manager
  • Housekeeper
  • Hospitality specialist
  • Cook

are trained. In addition, the following professions can also be learned

  • Warehouse logistics specialist.
