Born 1978 in Graz, Austria. Study of Natural Sciences (Genetics), University of Cambridge, UK (1997 – 2000), PhD at the University of Cambridge, UK (2005), postdoctoral researcher at Oxford University, UK (2006 – 2011), group leader at IMBA, Vienna, Austria (since 2011), Director at the Max Planck Institute of Biochemistry (since 2019). Kikuë Tachibana was awarded the Walther Flemming Award of the German Society for Cell Biology (2017) and the Prize of the City of Vienna (“Förderungspreis”, 2018).
