Prince of Asturias Award for International Cooperation

In announcing the Prince of Asturias Award for International Cooperation in June 2013, the jury praised "the European orientation of the Max Planck Society, its interdisciplinary approach, and the close cooperation between Max Planck institutes and research institutions and universities around the world." In addition to tens of thousands of collaborative projects in more than a hundred countries around the world, the international promotion of young researchers also received attention. For example, the Max Planck Society supports particularly distinguished former early career researchers in setting up a local partner group after they have returned to their home countries.
