Giulia Zanderighi

Prof. Giulia Zanderighi was born in Milan, Italy, in 1974. After studying physics at the University of Milan, she earned her doctorate from the University of Pavia. She pursued her academic career as a postdoc at the Institute for Particle Physics Phenomenology in Durham (UK) and Fermilab in Batavia (USA). In 2005, she became a fellow in the theoretical department at CERN, followed by a position as a lecturer at the University of Oxford and Tutorial Fellow at Wadham College in 2007. As of 2010 she was a Professor of Physics at the University of Oxford. In 2014 she took a leave from this position, holding in a five-year staff position at CERN. She has taken her office as a director at the Max Planck Institute for Physics on January 1, 2019.
