Neurodegenerative disorders – from yeast to neurodegenerative processes
Max-Planck-Institut für molekulare Genetik
SummaryLate onset neurodegenerative disorders are progressive disorders, which usually strike during mid-age of affected individuals and with age result in profound neuronal degeneration. Even though these diseases are quite common worldwide, the mechanisms responsible for their pathogenesis are, in most cases, poorly understood, and effective preventative therapies for these devastating disorders are currently not at hand.
