Summary
In a comparative study a research project at the Max Planck Institute for Social Law and Social Policy examined the protection of individual rights of children, their interests and needs as a normative specification and legitimacy of state family policy support and promotion measures. The country studies of Germany, France, Italy and Sweden show the differences and commonalities with a view to the legitimisation of a public responsibility for the young generation in the context of European and international provisions and guidelines.
