Duties

The President is at the head of the Max Planck Society. He determines the basic aspects of the Society’s science policy and represents the organisation within Germany and abroad. In cases which cannot be deferred, the President, as the Chairman of the Senate, the Executive Committee and the Annual Meeting, may make fast-track decisions about issues that fall under the responsibility of these panels.
