SummaryQuantum criticality is currently pursued across many areas of correlated matter. A particular focus is on quantum criticality in itinerant electron systems. It has been shown that the traditional theory of metals breaks down in the vicinity of a novel class of quantum critical points in metals. A better understanding of the physics of these novel quantum states yields new insights into the occurence of magnetism and superconductivity.
