Comparison of Law with Japan as an Instrumental Part of an European Strategy Towards Asia

SummaryAsia’s ever growing political and economic importance is not disputed any more. Europe, however, still lacks a coherent strategy how to cope with this challenge. Based on 150 years of genuine friendship between Japan and Germany the later has a unique chance to deepen its engagement in Asia in cooperation with its Japanese partner. Law in general and comparison of law with Japan especially are a high potential building block for an Asian strategy.
