Summary
Asia’s ever growing political and economic importance is not disputed any more. Europe, however, still lacks a coherent strategy how to cope with this challenge. Based on 150 years of genuine friendship between Japan and Germany the later has a unique chance to deepen its engagement in Asia in cooperation with its Japanese partner. Law in general and comparison of law with Japan especially are a high potential building block for an Asian strategy.
