Theoretical Spectroscopy - Novel Approaches for the Description of Semiconductors and Defects in Semiconductors

For the example of technologically important II-VI semiconductors and group- III-nitrides we demonstrate how modern computational techniques for band structure calculations can be combined with recent developments in density functional theory to meet the challenges in the theoretical description of the electronic properties of these materials.
