Summary
In cosmic accelerators particles are accelerated to much higher energies than achievable with man-made accelerators. By observing these objects in very-high-energy gamma rays, the H.E.S.S. telescopes in Namibia make significant contributions towards their identification and to the understanding of their acceleration mechanisms.
