Lindley Anne Winslow earned her Master’s degree in physics in 2007 from the University of California, Berkeley and received her Ph.D. from the same university in 2008, with a dissertation on solar neutrinos. After serving as a postdoctoral researcher at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) from 2008 to 2012, she held positions as an assistant professor at the University of California, Los Angeles, and at MIT until 2020; she worked as an associate professor at MIT until 2023 and headed the Department of Physics as associate department head at MIT until 2025. Lindley A. Winslow has been Director of the Max Planck Institute for Physics (Werner Heisenberg Institute) since July 1, 2026.
