Research Interests

Jean-Baptiste Raina focuses primarily on researching the interactions between marine organisms and the microorganisms that live in symbiosis with them. His goal is to gain a better understanding of how these microbes function and how they influence their habitat. To this end, he has developed a series of methods that allow him to study these interactions on a microscopic scale directly in the ocean.
