Job Offer from January 14, 2026

DynaPore is a spinout from Tobias Erb’s lab at the Max Planck Institute for Terrestrial Microbiology. We are building simple and robust diagnostic products to make fast and accurate testing accessible worldwide. Our engineered dynamic pore nanotechnology enables direct, label-free detection of biological interactions via electrical current changes, providing rapid, specific identification of contaminants and pathogens, even in complex samples.

Role Purpose

We are seeking a talented and motivated Bioelectronics Specialist (m/f/d) to drive the creation of robust electrochemical diagnostic test chips. This role is central to translating our pioneering dynamic pore technology into reliable, mass-producible products.

On-site, Marburg, Germany

Fixed contract until 31.12.2027.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead hands-on research and development of mass-producible planar-membrane diagnostic chips.
  • Collaborate with internal team members and external scientific partners to refine technical strategies.
  • Align target market demands with technical and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage scientific data and present research aims, progress, and results clearly in both oral and written form.

Required Qualifications

  • PhD, OR equivalent industry experience in a relevant scientific or engineering field.
  • Drive for practical application and commercialization of technology.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with fluent English proficiency.

Preferred Experience

  • Knowledge of electrode surfaces, biosensors, electrochemical sensors or nanopores.
  • Familiarity with electrophysiological, impedimetric, or similar methods.

Why Join Us?

At DynaPore, you will work at the cutting edge of bioelectronic diagnostics in a collaborative, fast-moving environment. You will have the opportunity to shape the development of breakthrough products, contribute directly to startup growth, and help bring transformative diagnostic technology to market. Team members integral to the core technology and business development maybe become co-founders of DynaPore.

Our spinoff is within the Max Planck Institute for Terrestrial Microbiology, on a vibrant international research campus in Marburg, Germany. With daily contact with world-class researchers, and access to startup events across Europe, there are ample opportunities to gain diverse experiences and make key connections.
