How artificial intelligence can warn us about climate hazards

Summary
Extreme weather events such as heat waves, droughts, and storms are on the rise. Traditional weather models are poor at predicting the effects, especially in the case of rapid or complex developments. AI-supported systems, on the other hand, recognize patterns in large amounts of data, take local conditions and social vulnerabilities into account, and thus improve risk prediction. This makes warnings more precise, understandable, and tailored to individual needs, which strengthens the resilience of societies. Responsible and transparent use is crucial in this context.
