Summary
Our research reveals that the political and epistemological entanglements between science and politics are not accidental, but in fact constitutive and obligatory. It is only by fashioning forms of collective life suitable to specific circumstances that it is possible to make knowledge in the first place; it is only by establishing shared ways of making knowledge that collectives are able to endure over time. To meet the ethical and epistemological requirements of our research program, new methodologies are indispensable, including collaboration with non-academic partners.
