Summary
A single base pair can determine whether a crop fails or thrives. While humans continuously adapt their antibodies, plants rely on predetermined immune receptors. They cannot flexibly respond to new pathogens. Our research group is laying the foundation for precise genome editing that can help plants become more resilient, productive, and sustainable.
