Summary
Even plants can be infected by viruses. While many pathogens can be transmitted from one plant to another, infected plants rarely pass viruses on to their offspring. How they manage to prevent this remains largely unknown. Unravelling this mystery could help combat viral diseases more effectively – not only in plants, but also in animals and humans.
