Summary
About a decade after the first direct detection, astronomy with gravitational waves has almost become routine. Short, transient signals from collisions of black holes or neutron stars are regularly observed. The next big discovery in the field may well be the detection of continuous gravitational waves. Einstein@Home is a citizen science project that is conducting the world's most sensitive searches for these waves. It has now targeted neutron stars in young supernova remnants, setting the strictest limits on their gravitational-wave emission.
