First call for Dioscuri Centres

The first call for the establishment of up to three excellent research centres in Poland is underway

In the new Max Planck Society’s new programme for boosting cutting-edge research in Central and Eastern Europe, the first application call for Poland is now open. Until February 12, 2018, scientists could apply as Principal Investigators (PIs) for one of up to three Dioscuri Centers of Scientific Excellence, which will be set up at Polish universities or research centers with appropriate infrastructure. More than 50 institutions have already signaled their interest. The PIs and their research groups will each have 300,000 euros available for five years. The Dioscuri programme aims to strengthen and expand scientific excellence in Central and Eastern Europe and is now being implemented in Poland as a first step. The financing is shared equally between the Federal Ministry of Education and Research and the Polish government.
