Max Planck Laboratory in Rosario (LMPbioR)
A particularly fruitful cooperation of a Max Planck Partner Group with the MPI for Biophysical Chemistry led to the establishment of a Max Planck laboratory in Rosario, the Laboratorio de Biología Max Planck Estructural, Quimica y Biofísica Molecular (LMPbioR). The Director is Dr. Claudio Fernández. The Max-Planck-Lab Rosario was opened in 2014 at the Research Centre of the Universidad Nacional de Rosario and specifically investigates the field of neurodegenerative diseases, such as Alzheimer's and Parkinson's.
It is funded by the Argentine side and additionally supported by the department of Prof. Christian Griesinger, Director at the MPI for Biophysical Chemistry in Göttingen, as its scientific partner. "Max Planck Lab Rosario" is one of the largest and most advanced international research centers in Argentina. In 2015, the laboratory also became a CONICET Institute for research into pharmacological agents.
