European White Book on Fundamental Research in Materials Science

The material sciences play a pivotal role in developing and improving our quality of life. In November 2001 leading scientists at the Max Planck Institute for Metals Research in Stuttgart as well as from other research facilities and universities published the European White Book on "Strategies for Future Areas of Materials Science and Basic Research in Europe".
