Job description |
|
The primary duties of this researcher include research and coordinating activities for the Institute’s research projects in the fields of European law and European criminal law as well as the drafting and editing of academic reports on current developments in European criminal law and the preparation of expert opinions on currently applicable European law. Thereby, he/she acts to assist in the implementation of the Institute’s research program in the European criminal law section. Furthermore, the researcher undertakes activities to promote the Institute’s interests in the wider academic community, e.g., lecturing, responding to press queries, and representing the Institute at conferences. Additional duties involve ongoing tasks in the section, such as keeping the relevant literature in the library up-to-date as well as establishing and maintaining contacts with scholars abroad and with European institutions. |

Requirements |
|
A university law degree with good results is a requirement for the application as well as sound (ideally certified) knowledge of European criminal law and a broad interest in the judicial, home affairs and economic policies of the European Union. Candidates should have an excellent command of written and spoken English as well as the ability to understand a legal text in French. Experience drafting and editing academic texts in English and German as well as an ability to edit such texts in French are an advantage. Applicants should be proficient users of standard Office software. |

Payment |
|
The salary and benefits follow the guidelines for German public service employees (up to E14 TVöD). |
